Installing door stop as close to hinge as possible

How close can a doorstop be to the hinge side of the door? There is a

There are adjustable door stops that mount on the hinge pin.

You can put it there but it will be a strain on the hinges if

you apply any pressure on the door.

There is door stops you can put right on the hinge pin.

Just pull out the pin and slide the stop on and put it back on.
